Group
Physics Photonics Group (PPG) is one of the research groups among the three photonics groups in Research Institute for Applied Physics and Astronomy (RIAPA) at the University of Tabriz.
All the photonics groups as well as the PPG are parts of Iranian Photonics Scientific Excellence which belongs to RIAPA and this great advantage makes the PPG as one of the Iranian most active experimental research groups in its field.
The group’s missions include research on optical, nonlinear optical and optoelectronic properties of organic materials. Several students Physics Faculty of Tabriz University and also some other universities in Tabriz city as well as RIAPA’s photonics master course students have so far done their master’s and Ph.D. degrees projects in the fields of laser interaction with organic materials as well as photonics in this group. The group’s aims include developing new frontiers in Photonics and it’s applications in organic materials.
Doing experimental research on optical, nonlinear optical and optoelectronic properties of organic materials as well as theoretical studies of this materials are some projects which has been done in the group. This group has 7 advanced labs include laser lab, organic materials synthesize lab, spectroscopy lab, vacuum evaporation coating lab, and so on. The labs of the group are equipped with various kinds apparatuses.
