Khajeh Nasir Toosi Observatory

This observatory is located at 45 kilometers from south of Tabriz on the top of Blindi mountain, at 38 degrees north latitude and 46 degrees east longitude.

The observatory has a Refracting telescope (6 inches) with Hα filter in order to study solar phenomena as solar flares and sunspots. Furthermore, there are also two 40 and 60 cm Cassegrain telescopes with electronic panel which allow researchers to observe stars with apparent magnitude of 11. Other facilities involve researcher’s accommodation building, 5 and 32 KW generators in addition with 24 inches telescope initiated in to work in 2016 which is the largest active telescope in Iran. Each of these telescope are in separated dome.

Now, Khajeh Nasir Toosi Observatory is the largest active Observatory in Iran that can support researcher’s necessities for observation.
